Day 4

Today we put all the balls that we finished making in the show for the museum. The Museum is featuring artwork from artists around Homer that is made from natural and biodegradable mediums. The show is called "Facing The Elements". We chose twigs from alder branches for our medium. Our biggest ball was approximately 3 feet across! We attached the branches together with screws and then spray painted them the different colors. We laid painted red slices of wood from the path to our artwork to draw attention. We tried hanging the red ball with fishing line, but that definitely did not work :) So, we tried plan B - hanging it with wire. It actually worked a lot better and you could barely see it. Check out all the pictures of our finished product!

Here is a picture of the Sandhill Crane. There have been many of them hanging around the yard.

Here are some pictures of us relaxing :)

  1. What a project. Took a little time and talent. Talent? Oh well what do I know, great idea and use of the elements. Too big for me to handle. I am sure it was fun getting it all together. Sure do looked relaxed. Need to do that once in a while. Somehow I manage to do it more then once in a while.
That is it for now... Will keep checking for more of the "great adventures".. Love, Grandma
