Day 9

Today we went on a hike with Deb and the dogs. On the hike we saw a moose track, and this awesome tree-root that was as big as us! Along the way, it was really muddy, so volunteers put up a boardwalk to make it easier to walk. We saw some interesting plants consisting of chocolate lilies, but ironically enough, they do not smell like chocolate when they are in bloom, they give off a rather unpleasant odor (we'll stick to the regular chocolate :). We also saw some trailing raspberries and starflowers. There were some little white flowers that we couldn't identify along the trail, so we call it the 'Lowney' plant. It was very foggy, but still very pretty along the walk. Unfortunately, we did not see any moose or bears. We think the dogs likely scared them all off :). The boardwalk that we were walking on still had remnance of ash from the volcano that erupted a while ago.

After our hike, we had some of Grandma's delicious chili and then off to open gym with Deb!
